There Is A Country For Old Men: The San Antonio Spurs Own The 4th Quarter

In what was arguably the most memorable moment during the opening week of the NBA season, two of the Western Coneference superpowers met up for an early duel. The Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs were tied at 84-all with just seconds remaining in the 4th quarter. The Spurs setup the play for Tony Parker to run off the screen and get the ball on the wing. One screen, one faint, one shimmy and one cut (along with one Russell Westbrook guessing and going to entire opposite side of the court) later, Tony Parker was draining a wide open jumper and the Spurs had executed themselves into another victory.

Se antoja como la contratación del verano.

Así es.  Luka Modric, el croata que terminó de llenarle el ojo a Florentino Pérez en el pasada Eurocopa 2012, puede ser el nuevo jugador del Real Madrid.

El equipo de la capital española ha confesado su interés por el futbolista de 26 años pero su actual institución, Tottenham Hotspur, no quiere dar su brazo a torcer.

Y entonces Modric explotó.  El pasado jueves se presentó a las instalaciones del equipo inglés pero no entrenó, llegó solo para hablar con el nuevo entrenador, André Villas-Boas e indicarle las ganas que tiene de jugar en el Real Madrid.

Five Takeaways On The Thunder Sending The Lakers Fishing

1. Russell Westbrook’s third quarter outburst won game five and the series for the Thunder. When you get some free time, go onto Twitter and check out the hashtag I created called #0appreciation, which might go down as one of the greatest things I’ve ever invented. Sad life, I know.

If you read me long enough you’ll quickly realize that my fandom to the Thunder is overboard. Its my hometown team, so can you blame me?

Yet, while many can find Westbrook’s style a maddening one to follow: quick jumpers, quick tempered, quick to gamble, to name a few. Its something to truly appreciate once you step back and realize the following.
