Anyone see the Ryder Cup this past weekend? I watched about five minutes of it.

When I was tuned in, I saw Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley being serenaded with chants of “USA! USA!” I saw them embracing each other and their families. It actually looked fun, and the gallery was really into this golf tournament between stars of the U.S. and Europe for the title of the place with the best golfers.

Then I changed the channel. And over the course of the rest of the weekend, the American team collapsed and lost a big lead, allowing the Europeans to come back for a tie overall and retain the trophy.
