In a quarterback-driven league, watching football on Sunday can be a case of watching a maestro conduct a symphony in front of 70,000 people. Other times, watching a quarterback who’s over their head, treading water and just waiting for their lifeline to be pulled. Great quarterback play can lift a team devoid of talent into a contender, and a great quarterback with with the proper supporting cast can have Super Bowl aspirations.

Inició la temporada de NFL el fin de semana anterior y con este, la expectativa de ver a los novatos en acción con sus nuevos equipos. Sin embargo, nadie pudo ni tuvo argumentos para opacar la actuación del veterano de veteranos en el circuito.

Colts de Indianapolis obtuvo la oportunidad de seleccionar de primera mano en el draft al mejor novato disponible, esto hizo que el QB titular analizara su futuro dentro de la institución y la forma en que se desarrollaría su carrera en la temporada 2012. Peyton Manning decidió dar un paso al costado, salir del camino del novato Andrew Luck y buscar un equipo que no lo amenazara con sentarlo ni relegarlo a un segundo plano. Encontró el equipo y ahora viene con hambre de recuperar el tiempo perdido.
