NEW YORK - The Colorado Rockies have seemingly tried every single idea imaginable to solve the intricacies of pitching in the Mile High city.
Sinker ball pitchers. Hard throwing pitchers. Finesse pitchers. A humidor.
In June, the Rockies brought up the idea in which they not only went with a four-man staff but crazily enough became perhaps the first team ever in baseball to limit their starters to just 75-pitches.
As veteran catcher Ramon Hernandez told FOX Deportes after last night’s game against the New York Mets, “there’s always a first time for everything.”
